ANGEL DREAMING

Angel dreaming - perfect, seeming...
What peace might silent watcher seek?
A gentle touch needed so much,
Where lashes rest on slumb'ring cheek.

A vision bared, decision shared,
Tranquility amid the storm
Of roiling doubt, within - without,
Of toiling emotion aswarm.

Dare I wake thee, chance to take thee?
Defy the call of Destiny?
Dare to tempt Fate or watch and wait,
As Chance slips away, silently?

In dawning bed, in passions bled,
Should throat be bared, whispers spoken?
‘Neath tranquil lids, what dream forbids
Awakening peace, unbroken?

Illusion not as dream forgot,
I shall not sacrifice this call.
But dare to give, to love, to live
A chance to fly worth any fall.

By dawn, discreet, by promise, sweet,
‘Twixt earth and sky and Hope portrayed,
On flitting eyes the soul yet cries
For truths untold, for love unmade...

For arms entwined, for souls combined
For soft skin to touch calloused heart.
For pleasure found, for joy unbound,
This chance is True Love's to impart.

A soft kiss now upon the brow,
A vow to stir the spirit, warm.
In the keeping of love sleeping
Before me in angelic form.

Michael Anderson

Yet if Hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

This is absolutely beautiful, Michael! My most favorite line is: 'A chance to fly worth any fall.'

breatakingly beautiful! this one hit home for me tremendously. i love the way you take the english language..the words we all know and yet when you put them together...they are the words of a sweet song that is familiar yet unfamiliar to me. take care my friend!

I've read two of your poems so far.  They're quite good.  You seem to be quite good at rhyming.  I could never master that.

Micheal,
This reminds me of a song I heard once...

"Worth The Fall"

I held on tight, I swallowed my heart
A kid looking for my first eight second ride
Dad pulled the gate, And I fell down hard
But there for just one moment I could fly

And all the world was mine
If only for a time
And even if I lost it all
The ride was worth the fall

I held her tight, She held my heart
Two kids swearing that we'd never say good-bye
But time changed her feelings and we fell apart
Still I wouldn't change a single tear I've cried

'Cause all the world was mine
If only for a time
And even if I lost it all
The ride was worth the fall

And if I had the chance again
To chase my dreams again
Then I would gladly risk it all

'Cause all the world was mine
If only for a time
And even if I lost it all
The ride was worth the fall

 All my love,
Jeffrey

I lie awake in a world filled with dreams,
but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep

Well, well, well, welcome back.   You have been missed.  and what a beauty this is, too.  full of trademark imagery, perfect meter--all softness and sensitivity tempered by your own particular angst....see?  told you I missed you...serenity sulks off to sit in a corner....

me thinks me sees your wings from here *smile*
me thinks its time to fly ...
and guess what M,
sometimes we dont fall ...
sometimes we touch the heavens...
but we wont fly ...
if we dont try.
I hope to be seeing you ...
there in the sky.
Love ya when your hopeful
love ya either way.

This simply dazzles Michael...Love this side of you!!! The chance is only worthwhile to take, if the risk matches your heart...remember that... And take care...

Michael,
I'm not going to tell you to take a chance,
but you should go where your heart leads you.
Your heart is where love is!
Excellent piece my friend!

and in the knowing I came upon myself and saw it not as a weakness but a strength that I could not corrupt such beauty....

sometimes the true blessing is in the wanting and not the taking.  But then again, what the hell do I know?

(for M,and Kess)

For too long now you've laid in darkness bleeding ...
to life's pain your heart conceding.
'Tis true all things happen for a reason,
but not all will end in vain--lost to fate's treason.

Comes a time to write a new poem, a magic, mystic, verse ...
time to compose a happy ending and free you from this curse.
Seek your own reflection in an angels eyes of understanding,
then touch the love your hearts and souls are now demanding.

Find no shame in fear of falling, tho let not hesitation close your eyes,
to love's light no longer blinded, ascend to where your future lies.
Destiny's winds call your names--love grants your hearts their wings to fly.
'Tis time to rise up ... time to kiss the moon and touch the sky.
