~A Piece of You~ once I found the courage, once I found the strength, I took myself back, I returned to where everything changed... for you,...for me,...for us all. It took some time, it took rivers of tears but I got there, I took myself back, to where your breath escaped you, where mine turned a dark, dark gray, but I got there,...in time. I returned to where everything changed for you,...for me,...for us all. It took some time, it took echoes of cries, but I got there. I took myself, to where your heart slowly slipped and mine swelled with pain, but I got there. And when I did,...I found something, something that makes me so unexplainably happy that I got back there...that I returned. In a bush,...there was your baseball hat blowing gently in the breeze... still there,...from that night. it's amazing it was still there... it was blowing in the gentle wind, in sort of a beckoning way. Almost to get me to notice it there, almost as if it were you... making it dance so I'd see it... I took myself back,.. I made it there...and there I found.... a piece of you. This piece of you,...is a piece of me. and I'm so glad that I returned I'm so thankful to you for giving me the strength to get back,...to close it this way. To take this piece of you home. I took myself back....... and I took a piece of you back too. *Missing You* |

Spit Fire, So glad that you found the courage to return. Without it, you would never have found the baseball hat or the closure that you seem so desperately to seek. I am happy you were able to take yourself back in the process....a true gift indeed. Great writing! ~Thank you Martie for reading and replying. This is true,..after the accident his hat somehow got stuck there in the bushes by the road,...and there it stayed for some time. Thanks again. *Peace. |
