Changing Times

These times are troubling,
boundaries changing,
Nations marching towards
whole-earth union,
as allies group
and re-group again.

Men and women, still evolving,
and revolving marriages
are a problem,
as men and women alike
adjust to the confusion
of newly overlapping roles.

Families have no definitive pattern,
same sex parents,
one parent families,
wavering structures for children
with too much information
and too many choices.

Tense reactions
to differing stances,
guns are raised instead of fists,
hateful reactions
to human diversity,
lines so easily drawn in the sand.

Stop...look at what's at stake here,
more than just pride,
more than egos damaged,
a chance to see
where someone comes from,
to walk in their shoes
...even though they might not fit.

Jane, very wise words, and really timeless. This has been a reaoccuring theam in our societies forever. I hope and wish with this movement to a global villiage, where boundries seem to disappear we will all adjust and embrace each others differences, one day, far off it may happen.
