The Steeple


What is wrong
with us as people
when hate and greed is so strong  we're blinded can't see the steeple.
For below the spire
we will meet and greet
and become one
as we give up deceit.
There is no denying  
who we answer to
He"s always there
He knows what we do.
And if by chance
we should fall out of grace
we know He will forgive
put our heart in the right place.
That is why we congregate
in our despair
to do penance
in His care.
