Saga For my 1000th post
(some definitions at the bottom)

And goddess Saga, in verse set forth
On Sleipnir's back to winters north
on Gungnirs tip, Huginn's corpse
a gift of homage, for Mimir's Vow
Heart in heart to face Ragnarok

Dead and gone in ancient songs
The spirit of a Goddess, somehow lives on….
Through Ragnarok, the gods have lost,
The worship of the common flock,
And Loki, in death laughs on, and on.

Now past and future do collide,
These dreams that mortal man, contrive.
But who’s to say, the dream is made
Of fantasy’s from all of yesterdays,
maybe the dreamer is the dream, that dreams..

But, in the dream that the dreamer sees,
Lives the image of the olden Seas
And wooden ships with wind swept wings
Where the Goddess, sails in the heart of me
Come, Oh come and you shall see..

And if you listen in the night,
On salty air, with starry lights
Down by the well of the oceans tides
A whispered song, enchants the wise
Whispering dreams, as she softly sings…

Saga:
Oh sail with me to County Cork,
on a maiden voyage of gentle seas
and run thru the mire and the mists,
on a lover's mystical journey.

Parker,
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  You have done well my friend.

This is an excellent poem, and it's nice to see someone use the Norse gods for a change!!  I've always thought that they were more interesting than those Greek gods any day!!

Superb my friend. . . on your way to 2000!!

Poet deVine, thank you very much, gotta toot my own horn, nobody else wants to do it...

Martie, thank you sweet flower poet..

Marina, thank you, what too intellectual for ya... well its not like I made this stuff up,
I'd like to take credit for it... ok yes I'm a Norse God, grounded on earth for chasing after the goddesses.

David2, thank you for reading.

Janet, thank you, I don't think they have a god for that... maybe they have an opening... and its hard to slow dance when your jumping around like that.

serenity, loki is just the bad boy god, I guess you like those bad boys eh!... thanks for your reply.

Balladeer, well I'm not really a student of Norse mythology just digging for some material, but it sure is interesting stuff.
I'm more into celtic mytholoyg stuff right now. Thanks for your comments.

Corinne, thank you, I hope whats in the braces is the translation for what you put..
Yes that piece is a song from Saga the goddess of Poetry, she probably doesn't mind me using it, being a goddess and all and above copywrite.....

Sven, yes the greek gods are getting tired lately, too much Xena and Hurcules.

Thank again to everybody for replying.
