Poetry-to-Go

I’ve got a little business
It’s called “Poetry-to-Go”
You just send me twenty dollars
And I’ll put on quite a show

I’ve got poems in my file
That will suit your every need
They will make Aunt Bertha shed a tear
And that is guaranteed

There's a verse for all occasions
You just send me twenty bucks
I’ve got poems for birthdays, weddings, dogs
And ones for tummy tucks

If you happen to write poetry
I’ve even better news
I can get your poem published
And bypass your stubborn muse

You just send me twenty dollars
And the credits are deferred
For a "Poem-to-Go" that’s waiting
Just for you to say the word

If you open up my website
And click “Pick-a-Poem’s Bard”
He will e-mail out your verses
With your easy credit card

We’ll submit your brand new poem
To the place we like the best
We guarantee it will be published
Along with all the rest

You will be an instant winner
Everybody will be proud
And Aunt Bertha will just marvel
As she brags to all the crowd

Just another twenty dollars
For a volume of your own
For a coffee table reference
That will grace your lovely home

Then for another twenty bucks
Your name is etched in gold
On your coffee table volume
They call “Sheep Among the Fold”

It’s a bargain you cannot refuse
It sounds too good, I know
So don’t wait another day
To get your "Poetry-to-Go"

Elizabeth Santos

Liz, my cheque is in the mail!  What a cute poem.  Your rhyme scheme and flow were just perfect.  Very much enjoyed!

Sorry, now i sound like Martie because we must have replied at the same time. LOL

Hay,

I'm really tired of all this copyright paper work with every page numbered just right... So just show me where to sign and I can get some sleep tonight. You got my 20 but I don't need the golden etched table as I've no where for it to go. But it sure makes for a good offer you know.

If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name. (Michelle A. Bartley)

Let's see, that's $60 now, and Marge is out and Lucky's in. (I better quick start a poetry file). Oh, heck, I'll just send everyone the same poem. They'll never know.

Marge, I knew you would like this one
Lucky, your poem is in the mail (hehe)

Thanks
Liz

Giggle, giggle, guffaw!  Yeah, my check is in the mail too!  And I would like the gold name on the cover!  That sounds very classy!  So here's twenty more.
I've never seen a poem like this before. Leave it to you, Liz!  You're the best classic of all!

You know, though, seriously, Liz, you could certainly sell your work.  It is always beyond reproach, and filled with beauty.

And though I have stated my position, I have to chuckle at your "sheep among the fold" thing - as though anyone who would pay this, would be a sheep.  Come on, now, are all the hundreds of people absorbed at Barnes and Noble Book Store "sheep" - don't make light, my dear, of the realities of a real talent bringing in dollars.
~ ~ ~
Yeah, yeah, I know it was only a joke.  But I am serious too!  There is only one you!

Oh Boy,

There she goes editing... I wonder what kind of sheep-ish thing she got in her head now. I think I better just take my lap-top honey a go write to bed.

(Let's see Liz, how are you going to get out of this one...since you only have one poem on file...just switch....third line, second word...reverse stanza two...change..... that's good enough.. they'll never know. Whew!)

OK, you two, I've got two original poems for you, and they're in the mail. Now all I need is Dale's cheek...I mean check, and we're all set. Congratulations! Consider yourselves PUBLISHED! What a deal!!

I think this was a very original piece of marketing, and I am surely aghast at all the insincere wisecracks your "friends" are making about your business!  I would think they would be more supportive!  Now... have you gone public???  I'm sending you a check for 1,000 shares (At $10 oer share), and would you please write me a pretty poem for lil Lorelei??  I'll send you another $20 for the gold leaf stuff, too!

As for the rest of your tight wads..   )~~~

Nice to see you on the forum, dear friend. I'm waiting for a post from Lorelei now
