A Salute To Memorial Day
~*Marge Tindal*~

Proudly she waves
May it ever be
the home of the brave
the land of the free

A home for the homeless
the heart of mankind
the proudest nation
brought to mind

The United States of America
is home to us all
The proudest nation
God bless us all

Pause to remember
Take time to recall
'All Gave Some'
'Some Gave All'

In your day of picnics
frolic and fun
pause to remember
the fallen sons

They gave their lives
so that we could be
the home of the brave
the land of the free

Excellent poem Marge.... I wish I had time to write one today.. but I don't - so I'll just enjoy yours.... and maybe I'll post a rather famous one for everyone's enjoyment....

Thanks for reminding us that today is a day to remember those who've made this country "The land of the free and the home of the brave"...

Marge, this is a beautiful tribute to this important holiday. Thanks for reminding us that this is much more than a day off of work and school!

Marge, only you could have wrote this with such splendor and class.... love the star thingy.....
Well we in Canada have our day on November 11th called Rememberence Day, and we just brought our symbolic Unknown soldier home just recently after 80 years... So salute I to all your lost sons and Unknown soldiers on your Memorial Day.

Nan~
Thank you for your comments.
America remembers today, joined with others who helped fight the battles of every war to try to bring about peace.

LoveBug~
Thank you for taking the time to remember.

Parker~
Oh, how well-aware I am of your country's sacrifice ... and pay honor to the unknown soldier repatriated to his homeland of Canada from France and the Cabaret Rouge Cemetery very near Vimy Ridge from the battles that took so many young lives in WWWI.  I'm pleased to pay tribute to them all.

Lil' Lizzie~
Thank you honey for taking time to also remember.

Corinne~
I appreciate your thoughts also.
