** Dandelion Yellow ** Dandelion yellow - simple in the sun Overlooked you are - by most everyone. But I'm fascinated - at the way you live From yellow to white - and in death, you give... Delicate, fragile - you turn white as snow So many beginnings - released as winds blow. You give up your life - so that many may bloom With small parachutes - you crumble too soon... Dandelion white - how giving you are To some, you're a weed - To me, you're a star. So simple in life - and so lovely in death I pick a handful - and take a deep breath... .....and blow..... -poetFemme May 28, 2000 ** A big thank you to Gloria (Lost Dreamer) for inspiring this little ditty. I wrote it several days ago, but just now decided to post it. Hope you like it girl! I've missed you! |

I should show this to my mom! She hates dandelions, but I love them. An awe inspiring, truly beautiful poem, femme. I love it. *Krista Knutson* ~The darkest midnight is only a prelude to the most enrapturing dawn~ |

This is very cool femme I was just talking to a friend the other day about Dandelions. We wondered if someone from a far away land came here, if they would realize what's weeds around here and what's not! Well done [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 05-29-2000).] |

once i made wishes of yellow dandelion a child, to spin in circles-- eyes reposed, no trace of crying-- dreams not even searched for... and oh I envy now your bliss-- gentle breeze of bloom in kiss... with the wish of flower's spore, I ask you, who could ask for more? ----lovely pFF, enjoy.... |

Genn, I love this poem I knew when I saw the title it had to be the one you talked of writing. I used to think of Dandelions as weeds also but you make them sound like the beautiful flower they are. I'm happy I could inspire you to write such a wonderful poem, it gives me much peace inside I've been around here at Passions just spending more time in the Corner Pub lately trying to keep it alive, come visit sometime and have a drink on me, I'll keep a seat waiting for you and the dance floor is rocking. |

Femme, one thing I like about dandelions is that they are so persistant. I picked a couple of really bright one's and blew very hard and nothing.... so I can only assume femme that you are better a blowing then me....lol Parker |

Dandelions are nice but I must admit I am one of those people who overlooks until I read your poem. But I'm fascinated - at the way you live From yellow to white - and in death, you give... I love that image, a wonderful poem. I still perfer daffodils. ------------------------ "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? " Douglas Adams.
