Is life too short to stop and smell
Partake of the velvet blue rose?
With petals soft, that serve to quell
What pondering life does suppose

Too short still, to nurture a care?
Within one – given – to imbue
Patiently taking the time to share
Warm a heart in friendship true

Halt the sands of time in mind
Breathe in the joy of being free
Close the eyes – make them blind
For inside a shell ~ to clearly see

Let not life be too short a’dance
Allow your heart, if once enthralled
To make that step, to take that chance
Have ‘cross your walls, Love’s lines scrawled
