No sweet songs tonight, Discordant thoughts Wail upon this stage. Howling, harsh, Jarring chants of Petty detachment, Thievery and decievery, And the award goes to... The measured, orchestrated Performance by a minstrel, For "Icebox Masquerading as Flame", A tune want of harmony and humanity, One which has transposed The sweet soprano song That had dwelt within me, To a hollow, sepulchral dirge, Of weeping, of lamenting as my sickened heart searches for lyric, Finding only double-tongued dissonance, And grating, metallic sounds. Kris, it's funny ins't it how those that we take into our lives as being in harmony with us can all of a sudden make us very discordant and dissonant. . . I hope that your heart finds it's melody again soon, my friend. . . This was an excellent poem with wonderful use of the musical imagery. . . well done. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
