I believe true happiness comes from within Just have to find where to begin How to show your heart the light May be shocked by such an awesome sight The sunlight will stream right through My sleeping heart awakens anew I am paralyzed by the sudden shock My heart once heavy as a rock Feels a new lightness of being There are many new unfamiliar feelings Have to get a grip on my emotions Still unsteady from drinking love's potion The chalice was withdrawn from my lips From my chin sweet red wine drips Leaves a stain on the front of my shirt Entranced I felt none of the hurt Instead hope blossoms deep inside I hold my head high with pride For I stand on the threshold Of the gateway to happiness which unfolds Here before me on this beautiful day The sky will be blue no longer gray A new life now awaits Thanks to the generous fates A special thank you goes out to Jeffrey Carter for the title and challenge.
