Mistaken Identity

I am the victim
of mistaken identity
the mirror lies,
it looks like me
but I don't recognize
the person I see.
The thoughts
living in another time
another place
a galaxy removed.
A platitude
of reality's sword
shards of me spinning
begging for more
a merry-go-round
of denials.
Seeing, wanting, feeling
butterflies of past
the gone and died
relationships.
Why am I lost looking
for rooms
that don't exist,
desiring the unreachable,
touching my minds
saved recordings
failing to acknowledge
they should have
mission impossibled
years before.
The doors
to never, never land
swinging open and closed
taunting me
severing my wisdom
dicing my mind
tossing it
dressing it
eating it alive.

It seems you've touched on a part of me in these words.  Maybe all of us.  I love poetry that I can relate to.  Thanks!

OUCH...this was sharp like pain itself!  Very powerful writing you do, especially when speaking of emotions!  Btw, I have a mirror like that too, if it makes you feel any better.     You take care of you!  You know who you are!  -pFF

Lori: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed.

Genn: Thanks for reading and replying, and yes I was at the intensity of the emotions when I wrote this so it came through very strong. Yes I know who I am most of the time.

7: Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Spitfire: Wow, thank you so much for your kind reply.

Aimster: Thank you very much for your kind response, I was very intense at the moment of writing this, as for holding onto what created this not sure if it would be emotionally healthy for me to do so. I was in another time and place, way far away from reality.

Balladeer: Thank you for your bravo's, I feel I've done well when you respond.
