Home, Again Seeking a circle of warmth, in caves somber and cold, buzz of human life droning in miniature lanes below. Up here, the lights are exquisite, I used to squint at the stars, recalling Christmas magic, evoked by scents of dead pine. Blackout below, Lake Tahoe, children crowd this small window, plane descending, home again, mountains hidden by nightfall. Farther from the sea – that’s reality, though the ocean is really home, all things effected by economy, someday I’ll sleep to her sound again. © 2000 CM Bailey |

perfect Corinne... very cool imagery, capturing a memory and holding it close. serene, calming poem. reminded me of an old fav song lyric... "...Lookin at the way we live- shiftin the blame, Is it in you...and in me--to forgive... breaking this chain. We cant run forever on a one way track, just remember who's drivin this train...
