UNBRIDLED

A child lost in the darkness,
I reached out to her with love.
Shared with her my emotions,
Everything dreams are made of.

She touched me with a smile,
And innocence of mind.
Drowned me in pools of passion,
Left emotion running blind.

I found myself falling,
Deep and deeper through a hole.
Even though I saw it coming,
I still had no control.

Her love, too much to handle,
Her needs, too much to hold.
She broke my heart, she broke my will,
Brought sanity to fold.

Passion of wild horses running,
Desire so clear in her eyes.
God, how could I help but love her?
Why'd it all seem such a surprise?

The strongest love couldn't tame her,
Scarred hands clinched the blood-stained reign,
Trying too hard to control her.
Did I bring myself this pain?

I let her go for in my heart
I knew I had to set her free.
But I also knew deep within
I wanted her eternally.

Now, as I sit alone beneath the stars
Of the Summer sky above.
I wonder if she still remembers,
She's all my dreams are made of.

For all behind was dark and drear,
And all before was night and fear.
How many hours of night or day
In those suspended pangs I lay,
I could not tell; I scarcely knew
If this were human breath I drew.

thank you...was in need of an M, poetry fixx

*SIGH*(of resignation)...
well you know I relate to this one...
and this is MOST beautiful and perfect.
I dont know M, its like you say in this poem...
should we try to stop from falling even though we "see it coming"...
and would we even WANT too IF we could.
somethings have a force of their own.
somethings are decided for us...
fate and meant to be...
even the hurt may be--
meant to be.
wish I had the answers...I never listen to my head, or gut...
cant ever hear them for the sound of my heart rushing to fall in love.
Here I am prosing on a reply to you again...
you just seem to always evoke emotion with your poems...
that must make you a poet huh?*smile*
later M, gator

Outstanding!!  Rich with feeling, pain of wanting to hang on and knowing that you have to let go...You go so deeply Michael I'm always amazed by someone that can do this...and you do it everytime it seems.

This is a most beautiful work of the heart, Micheal.   I rarely see words that can equal your own.  It is good to see you with some strength.   I hope all is well.

A masterpiece, Michael.

Definitely one of your best, in my opinion.

Passion and vulnerability, the faulted human, all wrapped up in this poem.

Wonderful lines, beautiful poetry,.. what can I add, words fail me at this moment.

As always, you have made me awestruck with your poetry..

Regards, sudhir.

Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

netswan, glad you enjoyed...

Janet - your prose makes perfect sense...LOL ty, my friend.

Jeffrey, ty - I am working on your new challenge next, btw.

BDC, Can't say it serves my best interest to always go so deep, but I do offer up my all everytime I write...  I'm glad my poetry touches you.

PDV - perfect is such a "perfect" word... you give me way too much credit me thinks.

serenity - slowly but surely, indeed...LOL

temptress, it is good to be carrying a little strength in me at this time, and I'm getting stronger everyday too

Sweet devina, you alone are worthy, my dear.  I do hope you never forget the dream, nor the heart that you have touched as well.

Corinne, I think being "faulted" is one of my best attributes...LOL  Seriously, glad you enjoyed this one so much.

Sudhir, your words do me great honor.

Nan - I hit bottom of the ink well - I'm doing all my writing in blood now...

Denise, ty so much.

Sunshine, happiness is at my disposal me thinks - it's more "grasping it" than finding it, but I am working on that.

Lone Wolf, I am molding my future one day at a time.  Indeed, tomorrow is what we make it.

Thank you all for the kind replies,

Michael

Do not ever give up. For with poetry, and the expression, underneath the stars is a wonderfully exquisite place to be, who could want for more?
IT is a canopy of words waiting to be penned...and you did it!!
