Cold Rain She never was quite like them She never quite fit in She thought there was no way To put her sadness to an end They would laugh and whisper Whenever she walked by She acted like she didn't care Even though she wanted to cry She tried to be strong And hold her head up high It was just so hard She just wanted to die She never understood Why they hated her so She wanted to run away But she had nowhere to go If they only knew About all of her pain Maybe they'd be nicer And she could leave this cold rain |

Oh, CS so sad -- reminds me once of a lesson learned in life about my ex when he was young. He hated it when he walked by a crowd and hear a titter of laughter. He told his friend and his friends said, "Say, what makes you feel so important that people will stop what they are doing, just to stop and laugh at you?" Beautiful poem -- netswan |

Love your title People can be cruel! This poem reminds me of someone back in high school. I felt so sorry for them. |

SweetThing~ These feelings are usually short-lived but painful nonetheless. A clear self-image is the only thing that keeps them from hurting you. You've expressed the cruelty of others very vividly here .. and of course the pain of one who feels taunted by being on the outside of the 'loop'. But who'd want to be part of a loop that would hurt someone's feelings anyway ? *HUGS* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
