Black Wallpaper
~*Marge Tindal*~

Sometimes the colors on display
are carefree and bright
they just make my day

On other days I realize
there are tears that fall
from other eyes

Tears that I can choose to share
tending to another
with a little more care

Remembering from my recent past
times I had tears to shed
wiped dry by friends who will surely last

The kind of friend
I always hope to be
knowing if my friend's tears fall
sometimes they also fall for me

So hang my walls with paper
often carefree and bright
but let me also visit the room of a friend
who has black wallpaper to hang tonight

Great poem Marge. I can think of many times when I've been trapped in the room with black wallpaper. I'd be happy to wipe your tears anytime.

Marge, you are absolutely right! It is so important to be able to share a friend's sorrow. Shed tears with them. When my friends were hurting, I was always hurting right along with them...and they did the same. You express that so beautifully here. You are the most perfect, wonderful friend anyone could have...you understand and know so much. And your heart is huge beyond measuring. I love you.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Beautiful colours of a rainbow,
Mixed together makes pure white,
Potions of joy, delights of a fun show,
Singing in unison, a happy sight.

Soul lays devoid, absence of hope and joy,
Tears filled eyelids, the time's never right,
Glances, irritated, red with grief, O boy!
Black the colour it is, in the absence of light...

Marge, the way you express life's moments are brilliantly painted in multicoloured strands in my heart...

Thanks for the beautiful poetry,
Regards,
Sudhir.

 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

Marge, Your tender heart just shines through in this one.  And I love the "black wallpaper" - what an apt description of pain. As always, another wonderful poem.  Bonnie

I do so appreciate your perceptions of what I try to pen.  Thank you.

Karilea~
Thank you for that great big compliment.
I can only write what I feel - for myself- and for the feelings of others.
Again, I appreciate you.

And you do so graciously share others' tears
So loving and caring a spirit, lifted by Cherokee winds into the hearts of others

Twas a sad poem, which truly brought tears to thy own eyes. Marge, you wrote a stunning poem! And reading the responses inspired by you...this really is a family of friends...

^_^ LadySofia

That time of year thou mayst in me behold, When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang, Upon those boughs which shake against the cold, Bare ruined choirs where late the sweet birds sang. In me thou see'st the twilight of such day, As after sunset fadeth in the west, Which by-and-by black night doth take away, Death's second self that seals up all in rest. In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire, That on the ashes of his youth doth lie, As the deathbed whereon it must expire, Consumed with that which it was nourished by. This thou perciev'st, which makes thy love more strong, To love that well which thou must leave ere long.
William Shakespeare

Lizzie, my friend~
You know I try .. sometimes it's all I have to offer.  My spirit seems to fly where it is drawn - resting in the heart of a friend.
I LOVE YOU !

LadySofia~
This render was wretched from my heart, sent to lift another.
We are a family of friends here for sure.
