Listen to the rain beating,
drop, drop,
Listen to the clock ticking,
Tick tock, tick tock,
Listen to the birds tweeting,
Tweet, tweet,
Listen to the crickets singing,
Tweak,tweak,
Hear my heart beating?

So to listen to your heart beating, I would have to put my ear to your chest.....
Alrighty then. I'm listening.
Too much running or something I must be getting a hormone testosteron overload.
and yes I can't spell and to lazy to look it up in the dictionary, but I'm still listening. I think I hear a beat.... well maybe not, just a little longer.

I know i responded to this once, but i found myself coming back for another read because it is so touching in simplicity, and so nicely written.....so back up it goes, listen to it soaring!

i took this one way when i first read it. i thought it was a little bit of anrgy pleading. i thought that, of all the romantic time your spending with this whoever, YOU aren't being heard.

then i read it again after reading the replies, and i thought this. the both of you (assuming this is written to/about a special someone) can hear each other in everything. even the beating of each others hearts in the simple rhythms of your surrounding.

now i can't decide which perception i liked better! i dug it.

We all got somethin' we need to atone for.

Parker...it is beating so loud that you don't have to put your head to my chest...so loud that it over rides every sound, every poem, distraction around...Yes you do hear a beat...just recite some more of your beautiful poetry me likes it alot!

Danny..you amaze me...your so sweet and kind..thanks for always reading my poems, I appreciate you!

Jen...your poetry is so creative lately, I am alot like you, like you said before, I have an imaginary muse to inspire me...but there are some here that iinspire me also..Thanks for reading

Ethan...you read my thoughts and my heart, it is a two sided poem, and it depends on which way your heart is seeing it...you saw both sides and my choice is the latter explanation, thanks for your reply
