I Could Not See the Angel

I could not see the angel,
     Though I knew that she was there;
A special gift from God above ...
     ... I felt her everywhere.

She was among the wind that blew,
     She whispered through the breeze,
She sang to me through birds that flew,
     Among the grove of trees.

And though I strained to hear the words,
     She whispered to me then,
It was more of a feeling,
     That my heart must comprehend.

  For messages from God above,
     Can come in many ways,
And in the quiet times I find
     They lighten my dark days.

  A momentary, feeling that
     Will touch my very soul,
To form a warm and gentle hug,
      Around my heart that’s full.

And if I listen closely to
     The questions that I ask,
I have the faith that God will hear
     And lesson my hard tasks.

For He will know and comfort me,
     Through difficulties near,
And carry me through trying times,
     Through sadness and through tears.

So if I don’t “see” angels wings,
     Or “view” a falling star,
I know and trust my signs are deep ...
     ... Within "my very heart".

WOW... this is so wonderful and you are so right. How many times do we see them?? we often only feel them and thats the special part the way we feel inside when they are close by, not many people have experienced this and it has only happened to me once but it was the most spiritual and peaceful experience I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
God Bless you Kit and thanks for sharing this with us.

Kit--

this brought a few tears to my eyes and truly captured my heart. i have been following your work and can see that you are definitely growing as a poet. this poem was simply beautiful! thank you for the sweet reminder that we all have an "angel" watching over us...and that just because we can't see things...doesn't mean they aren't there. you write with such poetic widsom but also with a depth of feeling that is very lovely to read. thanks so much for posting this!

Love,
Amy
