The Woods The woods are my garden, the trees are my walls The pine waves her needles as morning mist falls The moss is my carpet , the fern is my bed The trees are umbrellas to cover my head The pine is my perfume, the stream is my bath The sidewalk is softly worn leaf -covered path The birds are my music, the woods are my home A house full of life under heaven’s blue dome The flower opens slow like a child from sleep The leaves sway as gently as memories will creep Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 04-17-2000).] |

Elizabeth, my friend~ So lovely, dear lady. Naturistic images never looked so lovely as when painted in your poems. Positively enchantment. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

You have such a way with words; I feel I'm in the woods, soft wind blowing, God's great power all around. Very inspiring. Linda |

Liz, Could I sneek in her and tell you how much we love the woods. We're probably selling and RJ's thinking of her 100 foot pines still soaring to heaven above. I'll have to find her the likes where ever we be. Reminiscent, Lucky |

I don't know how I missed this at first! Good thing my darling looks through the back pages! This is enchanting - the woods are my home, and yes, we'll probably be moving, but like he says, only to a place with tall firs or pines - else how could they sing to me in the wind? ~ ~ ~ You do a magnificent job of describing the forest! Magnificent! ~ ~ ~ This one is a jewel! |

Thank you all for your nice comments. I appreciate them. And to Lucky and Rosemary, I would love to see a Canadian forest. It must be magnificent. Thank you all Liz |
