He was an true American hero! He was a role model, someone who you could look up to no matter how he ran, he always showed that Petty smile he had the kind of personality that attracted people to him he was a true inspiration He accomplished so much at the very young age of 19 but, still, he had so many years left It's just not fair for someone to be taken away that young he had so much promise and so much talent we all new he was going far ~~~IN LOVING MEMORY OF ADAM PETTY~~~ HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED |

You know, I didn't even know who Adam Petty was until about a month ago....it took my 2-yr-old son to clue me in, since that's when he started watching the Nascar races and such....it's such a shocker that this happened to someone so young. And you're right--he did have that trademark Petty smile, didn't he....? Great tribute here. Christina =^..^= |

Thank you for your reply Christina it's so horrible to see someone so young with so much talent get taken away so soon its hard to think about him without tears in your eyes |

Christina~ Thank you for this lovely post. The Petty's have been so saddened with Adam's loss. They are a close and strong family but will need prayers to see them through this tragedy. Again, I thank you. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Bless you for this wonderful tribute, it is always sad when a racer dies, but so much more so when so young. Adam did have a promising future ahead and had a wonderful Petty smile. He will be remembered in all racing fans hearts. and we are all praying for his family. |

This was such a tragedy, I listened in horror to the report and then when the t.v. showed the interview with his mother and when he said that everynight he goes into his parent's room to pray with them before bed.....I sobbed. You wrote a beautiful tribute, thank you for sharing this. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams ~Eleanor Roosevelt~ |

To Lost Dreamer and Butterflies_don't_cry thank you for your loving reply's this was probably one of the hardest poems i've written. It was such a tragedy what happened, it's hard to put your feelings into words. Even though I never got the chance to meet Adam in person, he was such an inspiration. Thank you again. This is so sweet of you to do such a thing. Someone you never knew. This was/is very sad indeed. Now please don't get me wrong when I say this, but everyone has their time, and if he had to go now, at least he went doing something he truly loved and had a great passion for. I sure hope when it's my time to go, I'm doing what I love so much! Again, I'm not making light of this, it is tragic and very sad...he was so young. This is a beautiful tribute to him and his family. Well done Crazy Chick! |

Thank you irie your right, I know a lot of drivers who say that when it is their time to go, they want to be doing the one thing they love the most...racing. |
