DESTRUCTION

as we live and as we breathe
we strive for power crave reprieve
in our bodies in our careers
we turn blind eyes claim deaf ears

in the name of progress we will build
when faced by man will nature yield
trees will fall and fauna die
to make us rich and get us high

when will we learn and take due care
of lifes true gifts whilst they're still there
do we create do we prepare
for natures downfall and despair

when forests are gone and fields are left
replaced by stone and metal steps
blossoms dead and sunlight missed
in place is concrete polluted mists

Earth day should be everyday.
