Thoughts of You

I thought of you today.

Of sunrises gazed upon from the back porch swing
Of sunsets pondered from the front

Of birds chirping on a cool spring morning
Of dewdrops glistening on the grass

Of bluebonnet fields, thick and blue
Of honeysuckle air, drenched and sweet

Of kitten's fur brushed softly against my skin
Of kitten's purr rumbling gently in my ear

Of the intoxicating scent of freshly-cut grass
Of the sun's rays warming my tender soul

Of a slow, refreshing dip in a tiny secluded creek
Of the taste of dewberries, straight from the vine

Of ladybugs vying for that topmost leaf
Of busy ants marching to their own beat

Of crickets chirping in the night air
Of lightning bugs waltzing to their song

Of moonlight splashing against your skin
Of your beautiful smile as we dance under the stars

Of the way you love me, gentle and true
Of how much I need you, no other will do

I thought of you today.

And it made me smile.

Beautiful poetry...beautiful thoughts.

I could actually picture Judy Garland humming the song "a few of my favourite things" in the background while reading your poem, though I think your list of things is far superior...hhehe.. That was lovely, it is just made this cloudly sky seem clear blue.
