"never seek to tell thy love
love that never told can be -- "
in response to my confessions
he has shown me beauty.

the first day i saw his eyes
they swept me to the sky
he stole the flag, he stole my heart
"if you want i could fly..."

we hugged at midnight in the parking lot
it happened to be my last day
he held me and told me to keep my head high
my dragon's he commenced to slay

he wrote to me from a mountain top
telling me things about life
he sang to me on a busy road
the words to American Pie

we had some green gel at Swensen's
and thought it belonged on our faces
we played his piano and sang about flowers
as i pondered respective "best friend places."

as he graduated and moved up in the world
i felt like he left me behind
he looked in my eyes and he told me
i'd stay forever on his mind

the first of next visit we became Tuck and Roll
we fought about money and whatnot
i was so excited to be near him
my place i soon forgot

we stayed up 'till breakfast-time talking
and sometimes never saying a word
he played on the strings of my heart
and struck a beautiful chord.

we spoke about preconceived notions
and matters of the heart
we looked deep into our souls that night
we were beginning to make a start

he's my best friend through words, my lover                     through looks
stands by me with the rise and fall of the tide
but no matter what the future holds
we'll be forever side by side.

I love this! I can feel the emotion so strongly. So well written.

Love and hugs,
Lizzie
