yes Marge...too many too soon So we all need to act before it's too late This is something I feel very strongly about. I am an active volunteer in my community to spread the word about child abuse. We must help those who cannot help themselves. Jeffrey |

Thanks for adding your voice to protest against violence, anger, and hate for the innocent ones who cannot defend themselves. "Love is the only drug you can take that will convince you each time that you've never had it before." ~author unknown~ |

Very powerful reading....the feeling that this brought was very deep and very painful. Awareness is the key to our future angels. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us. Hold me for yesterday Kiss me for tomorrow But love me for today. |

Very sad and I have no sympathy for the dad but I can only imagine what kind of hell he went thru when he was growing up to have become such a monster that would in turn take out his pain and anger on an innocent wife and child. James |

James, I understand what you are saying, but does that give him the right to take it out on them? I can tell you that no form of abuse is ever justified. no matter what the circumstances. I know that's not what you meant but I just had to get that off my chest. Thank you for giving me the chance. Jeffrey |

Right Jeffrey I agree that no one is justified or has the right to act in that way. There is never an excuse. I was only wondering how such monsters are created and hoping that this cycle could be broken in some way... I believe child abusers should be locked up in jail and throw away the key or as I have said before let Mike Tyson give them a sample of what they are passing out...because usually it is a stronger person taking advantage of a weaker person that can't fight back. But still I wonder was it something violent that happened to them when they were young that made them what they are today? James |

Jeffrey, through these words of innocence, you have shared such tragic and powerful truth. As an advocate for survivors of child sexual abuse, I commend you and all our fellow poets here for speaking out and sharing so candidly about just what it is that we are so fervently fighting. Thank you, in earnest, for your thoughts, feelings, words, integrity and help. (((you))) ~ Claire |

First of all I want to apoligize to James I am truly sorry for taking my frustrations out on you. Please foregive me. These last 2 days have been extremely tough on my emotions. Again I am sorry. I want to thank everyone for being so compassionate to the very real problem of child abuse, not just child abuse, but abuse of any kind. I now see that most of us know this pain from our own experiences. And almost all of us know someone that is a victim of domestic abuse. We must all stand up and be counted to put a stop to this. Most people in our communities do not want to believe this problem even exist, so they choose to ignore it. If we all stick together we can change things for the better. We may not make them change the way they think but we can sure as hell make them see the problem. All my love, Jeffrey |

Jeffrey I can understand your frustration. Your poem has brought some thoughts to my mind about my father...I always wondered why he was so controlling and manipulative...I hated these traits in him and yet in many ways I became just like him. It has been a struggle for me...only in the past 5 or 10 years have I broken away from this behavior. James |
