My Drowsy HeadI read his words aloud again of verses laced with passion, free. I cannot help but crave the touch soft syllables stroke my memory. When pen to ink dips softly thus and writes from honest aching heart, how can one turn and carry on, and from love's missive duly part? How can one face each night anew with emptied arms and sorrow's song? How might one suddenly deny what words, as torches, can scarce prolong? Yet what if love was not surreal? Nor ether, vapor, mist entwined? Could words of love create a bond in which a greater truth assigned? My drowsy head cannot abide. Such madness, now, these queries sow! I greet the Night, to grieve upon his words, the love I shall not know. ![]() |

Claire, the longing and the unknown in this one are readily apparent. . . Your words speak of a love never known. . .a love known only in the mind. . .and in the heart. . . What a wonderful rhythmetic poem -- reminds me to start working harder on my own. Well done. If this is how you feel -this emptiness inside, remember this dear Claire we have to let love in --) netswan |

Sven, how perceptive you are, my friend. Thank you for reading this one... Netswan, thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this. It seems my muse has found herself a bit barren, verbally, and has taken to playing devil's advocate with my mind, of late. I think she likes to keep me in the throes... ![]() ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

to fall for the poets sweet words... tis indeed a lonely curse. I too crave the touch of my poets hands, to be embraced by more than his verse. *sigh*... whats a girl to do. *smile* perfect poem C, just perfect! take care,jm It's amazing How you make your face just like a wall How you take your heart and turn it off How I turn my head and you lose it all ... And it's unnerving How one move just puts me by myself There you go just trusting someone else Now I know I put us both through hell ... I'm not sayin That there was nothing wrong I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me And I'm not sayin We ever had the right to hold on I just didn't wanna let you get away from me. ~MB20~Leave |

Well written. Love can be very scary yet it can be so comforting. |

A belated welcome to Passions (I don't get over here as much as I'd like) and thank you for reading! Denise...just knowing you've read my little poem makes me smile. Thank you! Nicely done, Claire... Perhaps when we lie our drowsy heads down that love finds its way to us.. It's the incessent searching that makes it impossible to find.... ![]() |

No sentence could do justice No words could describe No thought could bring truth any closer Then you have done with this poem I can only but admire you And yet the pain is shared These words will haunt me through the night So well written and so right To feel what "others" feel I do For this poem I “Thank you” L.& S.P. The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Claire, Quite touching, I especialy liked these lines; My drowsy head cannot abide. Such madness, now, these queries sow! I greet the Night, to grieve upon his words, the love I shall not know. I like the way you express yourself.I only hope you aren't pining for such lost love. David2 ![]() [This message has been edited by David2 (edited 05-12-2000).] |

I love this poem. I don't know how you get the words so nice and large. I like that too. |

Nan, thank you. Yes, and perhaps it is all the searching that makes one so drowsy *smile* Helmut, thank you for your kindness. I know you understand...but still I must write, at least, for now. L. and S.P. David, thank you for reading this and letting me know that it touched you. I am fine...no pining that I can't handle, thankyou. Rosemary, I'm glad you liked this, but tell me...how large is the font?? On my screen it looks actually rather small, but wonder if that is due to my "small fonts" settings. I didn't realize that my posts were coming out so large...that is not at all the way I wanted them. Guess I'll have to modify the html and see if it helps. Thank you for reading, my friend. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |
