Tears were cried again last night As they drown her in the shower All the while expressing a laugh and a smile For the fears and tears she hides so well. With makeup as the tool that she uses To conceal the blemish of the bruises She tries to hide the feelings inside She does whatever she has to do. Why did she stay Why was she not afraid Of the insults and the degrading Of simply just being alone with him At the whim of his fist raging. His force crushes dignity and at times self-respect Yet her confidence, esteem and intellect Seem to be destroyed by his abilities of trust, love and need. Heart turned to ice Feelings turned to stone Laying awake at night she prays all alone To the angels above she cries out her plea Help her to awaken tomorrow she asks of thee. It has taken much time to reach this moment in her life The fault now lies with him No longer does she need to repent He was always the one to blame Realizing after all has been done He is the weak and she is the strong. With her heart now learning to love She finds new strength in the Lord above She wishes no harm to come his way She accepts his apology and lives life day by day Slowly attaining a peace of mind in life As forgiveness in her now shines bright. ~ Dedicated to one now opening doors to love and believes that a trust can be, yet most sacred to her is the embracing of forgiveness ~ CocoBaci [This message has been edited by CocoBaci (edited 05-12-2000).] |

Your words are heartfelt. I wish you peace in your journey. One cannot under estimate strength in forgiveness. Be courageous in your endeavors to get on with your life and know you are a good person. Hugs. |

CocoBaci~ This rips with the images of abuse. I guess the important thing is that 'she' made it out with her life. Not always easy to do ... and sometimes impossible. Wishing 'her' the best of luck in going forward to more gentle hands and heart. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I thank you friends once again for stopping by, I realize this one I write is not of the genre that I usually echo from my heart yet recently I learned that my dear friend has stepped thru the doors and faced past demons that lay hidden before. She truly is an amazing lady for now she bravely goes forward giving life a chance to breathe inside her heart and soul. CocoBaci |

The power of forgiveness can never be underestimated for the healing it can bring. Even if the relationship itself can not be saved, at least some measure of peace can be obtained. This is very well written! Denise |

There is an important message here...even as she has found it within her heart to be loving and forgiving she needs to find a man that shares these soft and good emotions of the heart. James |
