My wonderful students wrote these great tributes to their mothers for a very special day...
Mother's Day - May 14, 2000.
Enjoy..

SHE IS

by S.

My mom is nice and caring
I wonder what she thinks of me
I hear her say nice things
I see her doing good deeds
I want her to stay the same
My mom is nice and caring

I pretend we travel different places
I feel that she is kind
I think she worries too much
I worry that she'll get sick
I cry when I do something wrong
My mom is nice and caring

I understand that she gets mad at me for good reasons
I say to her, "I Love You"
I dream I will go somewhere with her
I hope she loves me as much as I love her
My mom is nice and caring

by J.

My mom is an alien
I wonder what she is not
I hear her talk
I see her cook food
I want her not to be an alien
My mom is an alien

I pretend we are having fun
I feel her hugging me
I think she is an alien
I worry she will zap me
I cry in my dreams she tries to zap me
My mom is an alien

I understand she is not an alien
I say to her, "Are you an alien?"
I dream she will fly to space
I try to make sure she does not have a zapper
I hope she does not have a zapper
My mom is an alien

by E.

My mother is wonderful
I wonder what she does when I'm in school
I hear her sweet voice
I see her make us dinner
I want her to be happy
My mother is wonderful

I pretend we are famous
I feel that she deserves more
I think she is the best
I worry that she'll be mad at me sometimes
I cry when she is unhappy
My mother is wonderful

I understand that she gets mad sometimes
I say to her, "I Love You"
I dream of a day just she and I are on a shopping spree
I try to behave
I hope she likes this poem
My mother is wonderful

by J.

My mom is nice and kind
I wonder what she thinks
I hear her cooking
I see her watch TV
I want her to live forever
My mom is nice and kind

I pretend we are rich
I feel that she is perfect
I think she is just worried
I worry that she will die
I cry when she is sick
My mom is nice and kind

I understand she works hard
I say to her get me dinner
I dream she did not have to work
I try to be as kind as I can
I hope she lives a good life
My mom is nice and kind

by J.

My mother is funny
I wonder what she thinks
I hear her tell not funny jokes
I see her fly super high
I want her to tell funny jokes
My mother is funny

I pretend we don't have a good time together
I feel that she shouldn't live in a cuckoo bin
I think she loves us all
I worry that her hair will turn orange
I cry when she leaves me
My mother is funny

I understand that she has to work
I say to her, "Cuckoo Bin"
I dream she will go surfing
I try to do my best
I hope she won't have that funny laugh
My mother is funny

by S.

My Mummy is beautiful and caring
I wonder what she believes I will give her for Mother's Day
I hear her footsteps on the stairs
I want her to come in slow motion so I can hide the gift
My Mummy is beautiful and caring

I pretend we haven't gotten a gift
I feel that she knows we have
I think she has bionic hearing & X-Ray vision
I worry that she'll catch me working on it
I cry when she leaves fosr very long periods of time
My Mummy is beautiful and caring

I understand that she doesn't have all day for us
I say to her, "Uh, I have to, uh... go shopping!"
I dream of having such a singing voice as hers
I try to sing as her
I hope someday I will
My Mummy is beautiful and caring

This is an excellent poem!  It really teaches you how much your mother means to you!  Thank you for posting it!  It brings a little light into a dusty world.
