Forbearance Sorrow is a hollow place An empty thought that holds no space It leaves you bare and full of doubt What is this life we live about? What gives us this breath of which we breathe What is it that we really need? We search for something yet unknown The search for answers not yet shown. There is no book to guide my way No hidden path to help me stay Above the rising water here No time to stop I’ll drown I fear. Set aside this fearful thought Trek forward in this life untaught And teach myself with lessons learned To take from life that which I’ve earned. Happiness when we have it is often taken for granted yet we struggle and fight trying to find ways of being happy, content and at ease with ourselves. Yet as humans we are filled with questions and doubts, "What is it that we really need? We search for something yet unknown The search for answers not yet shown". Great poem, I love the optimistic last verse. |
