I lay out my clothes every evening, Follow instructions I write to myself, Buy just enough cans of spaghetti To fit on the pantry shelf, Pay bills and balance the check book, Make pancackes and bacon to eat, Pull the bed spread over the pillows, Smooth it out and make it neat, Be sure the garbage is emptied Be sure the cat has been fed, Be sure everything is locked up And turned off when I go to bed, Make appointments with doctor and dentist, Periodically change the oil, Scratch around in the flower pots To loosen and aerate the soil. Oh I can name many more duties At which I'm proficient at least, At which, since I'm living without you, My competencies have increased. Washing, ironing, cooking, shopping-- But when all is said and done, It was all done so much better, When we were two and and not just one. |

Beautiful poem...kinda makes me think of the quote "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" I loved it. ~Kelly Reflect upon your present blessings-of which every man has many-not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. ~Charles Dickens We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~Winston Churchill |

Oh, this is so sad. Well written, it tugs hard at the heartstrings. |

This is so sad, sweet and tender, Dom. I was surprised that it was not a witty, tongue-in-cheek piece that I have come to associate with you, but this was certainly no disappointment. Very well done. Denise |
