Have I Thanked You Yet Today? I wonder if I've thanked you yet, For thoughtfulness you've shown? I took the day off here today, So I could be alone. I wanted to be sorry, For myself, and run and hide … But in these rooms I've found Such warmth and comfort by my side. I've only been around this Group of people a short while, And yet you open up your hearts, And touch me with a smile. It seems the more I read amongst The talent found within, These walls of sheer technology, I've found such golden "pens". It's quite addictive, I have found To while away some time And read with rapt attention All your lovely flowing lines. I find it hard to stay on top Of each and every poem, For I have not a lot of time To spend inside this home. But since I'm playing hooky And today I have the time, I'd like to take a moment Just to send you each this rhyme. So if I haven't thanked you For the thoughtfulness you've shown, Please take this heartfelt message For I feel, I'm not alone. /Kit McCallum |

You have given me a smile making all my tears worthwhile, for showing gratitude for such a place, yes, a smile sits here upon my face. When you feel the currents in this home, and know it can be your very own, your pen pushes ink out of its tip, the words rush from your moving lips... the true poet speaks from his heart... Thank God we have Ron, and his art! ~~~ Well done, Kit! Again, Welcome to Passions! |

I love this place too...always lifts my spirits!...and I haven't even been here that long! ~Kellsue Reflect upon your present blessings-of which every man has many-not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. ~Charles Dickens We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~Winston Churchill |

I thank thee, for all thy thanks, Thou expresseth gratitude, for us, Thats a sheer force of nature, The way thou sayeth, says it all... It is gratifying to read this one, Kit. kit-- this was simply beautiful hon. i feel exactly the same way you do. i feel as though i have been lifted out of a fog and that i have finally found and met people who know what i'm going through and really care. funny how people on this "machine" sometimes show us more compassion and understanding than those people in our "real" lives do. at any rate i'm also very grateful and happy that i found passions. and i'm happy that you joined our family. love, amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

Kit, I'm sure that if you asked 20 memebers, you'd get 20 different responses as to why this place is special to us. . . for me, it's opened my life to things that I would have never seen before. . .and given me a place to share things I've never shared before. . . and I wouldn't trade these people for the world. . . they mean a lot to me. . . and I'm so glad that you feel at home here. . . it's what we're trying to do. . .we like to call it, "The Family of Friends. . ." and that's exactly what it is. . . Great poem!! ------------------------------------------------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Kit, I'm glad that Passions means so much to you. It means a lot to me too. Indeed, this is a "Family of Friends", as Sven said. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde |

This poem is perfectly describing my favorite place in the world! I love Passions too...if I could spend all day every day here I would. Believe me I would! Love and hugs, Lizzie "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is my rainbow of delight." |

Very nicely put Kit. I think you've expressed what everyone feels and wishes they had been able to say first. And it really is additive, isn't it. The only time I've spent more time on the net was when first got on it. My wife claims to be a "passions widow". I tell her there is just so much to read and think about...and I could be out at a bar or something... Thanks again for expressing my thoughts... j. |

Kit, Thank you, dear! I must agree, this is a wonderful place to be, and there is nothing better than to have dear friends by your side. But we are lucky to have you here, too! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |

Kit, Words can't express how much I get from this place. I haven't been a member long myself, but I'm wondering what I did before. I love reading all the heartfelt poetry here, and finding how easy it is to relate to others. Thanks for all your kind words about my poetry, and thanks for all yours. You know, we owe you a big thanks too! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance - I hope you dance. song by LeeAnn Womack ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Kit~ Thank you for such a thoughtful post. Passion's is such a warm and wonderful place to 'hang our pens'. I feel that the talent gathered in this place is so awesome that it is a sheer delight to be part of such a diverse family. The circle of friendship is growing by the hands we grasp and being into the circle. How we've grown in just the 6 months I've been here. You just know there's something right about this site ... to draw people together in love, friendship ... and our love for poetry. Quite honestly, I feel we are very blessed. Yeah ... I'd say you said 'Thank You' in a very nice way. Thank you for being here. I'm glad you 'played hookey'. Love to you ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

As much as you may think that each of us give to you....you in turn give to us as well and in that we find the true meaning of friendship.... thank you for being here because all of us are here because there are others just like you. If we could bottle the friendship, love and creativity that abounds in here, we'd change the world!!! Since we can't, we just open our doors and let new friends in all the time...it's a wonderful place to be isn't it.... I loved your poem.. |

Kit, don't you believe it this place is a trap. There's no exit sign, I've look. They force you to read all this poetry. Now, who reads poetry in this day and age, I mean gawd! Its all dizzying, and brainwashing stuff..... first you laugh then you cry, and you cry some more, a cheer here and a cheer there. I know its an experiment, i'm changing.... to I don't know what, aaaa poet. Their trying to make me a poet. Now I check my spelling... except here, and I'm always looking for meter. Then theres the iambic stuff, yeah right, like thats a real term! duh who are they kidding. All these strange people sending nice replies, and I reply back.... its only a computer game, I know i'm talking to a frigging computer. Now theres you, all nice and sweet like, thanking us, being so nice. I want to say your so sweet and welcome you but you can't fool me, its a test. Real people arn't this nice to each other, nobody at my work writes me poetry. So ok I'll play, your a nice computer, and your not going to make me do anything weird u know. No little huggies, no winkies, no smiles.... but if you are real, run because I may just be one of those poem programes, just sent to confuse you. I just want to welcome you to our humble family, but don't go in the alley.... mama lives in the alley, mama I won't let her go there. Would you like to take a shower now, Oh don't worry about me I'll be in the kitchen knife... I mean in the kitchen tonight for a snack. So if you have me, want me, I mean need me........... just SCREAM. |

Isn't it interesting how Passions computer can send you all these responses and make you think there are real people...... Even with strategically placed spelling errors. You must know I'm the only other real person on here and I'm not too sure about you. Maybe you're the kit computer program from Knight Rider the TV show. All those online nicknames, even some that resembles real human names, the system generates them just for fun, and actually there are no real humans anymore. These are all computers talking to each other, except for mother in the alley… how you doing out there mom. Mom no I'm not talking to any woman, Just a computer, I think you'd had better run now. I've got way too much time on my hands, since I'm a computer I don't really have any hands. This Hal9000 signing off (hal9000 insane computer from 2001). I'll be back, Hal |
