I am the dream so many seek, Yet my seed lies deep in the heart; And while my fruit is most desired, To grow, it requires a start. The warmth of passion is my sun, Every affection – a gentle rain; Communication keeps me strong And “trust” is my middle name. I am soft, yet steadfast as steel; I am loyal, faithful, and true. You’ve only to feed my implanted seed And I’ll always reside in you. I can help you fight off depression, Just reach out and take my hand. And if it is fear that brings you down, Tis I who will help you stand. But there is no way I’ll survive alone, Gathering dust upon a shelf, You have to “give” for me to live... Placing others above yourself. My beauty is everlasting, I am strongest once I have grown, Conquering mountain-like obstacles Like a flower thus shatters a stone. And the treasures I am offering Are as vast as the sky above, I’m simply “a dream” to so many... But you can call me “Love.” © Brandyn Sand 6-05-99 |

This is a beautiful poem. I especally love the line "You have to “give” for me to live... Placing others above yourself." It is so true. Great work. "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde |

Brandyn~ This is lyrically lovely. 'And the treasures I am offering Are as vast as the sky above, I’m simply "a dream" to so many... But you can call me "Love." I really enjoyed the beauty of it and the culmination into 'Love'. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Brandyn, This is truly a touching way to portray love, and how right you are! I am really enjoying your poetry and I keep looking for 'em. The deepness in this has left me spell bound......when I recover I expect to read more of you A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her. |
