SIGH Ambition I feel it swelling within me filling my lungs with love with life energy Aspiration soaring no boundaries no chains unto fullness of being ~pause~ Anxiety How can it be I can take no more in? This life I so love, this vigor endlessly encompassing me How can I be so limited in my indulgence so fragile in my expectation Fret not I shall cling to that which is mine. I shall be content in my portion not mingling with greed But no, even now I feel it starting to slip away, bleeding me of all gifts once presented me Why? CRASH The dream is grounded hope belied ambition donning the shackles of my own creation wounded waning now in memory ever ~ deflated ~ Michael Anderson [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 05-05-2000).] |

Correct me if I'm wrong, But I feel a sense of confusion and emotions swirling out of control. A glimps of happiness, then feeling unsure to feeling empty. Well, this is what I have interpreted here, and I'm known to misinterpret much of the time. In anycase Michael, Well done... ~Sheri [This message has been edited by Irie (edited 05-05-2000).] |

That was a beautiful poem, but somewhat sad. I enjoyed it very much. "Even a fool knows you can't touch the stars, but it doesn't stop a wise man from trying." Harry Anderson, "Night Court" *Cassandra Roseen* |

Ahh my dear friend. You are doing the pulling yourself back up thing. Once we think we might have some ground beneath us again it slips away. Don't worry dear heart, it will come. Each time you inflate you rise higher and more securely. Don't be afraid to let your friends support you. ((hug)) Well written as always. When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shodows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace, And loved your beauty with love false or true, But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, And loved the sorrows of your changing face... Michael, Like Janet Marie points out, this seems to be a different style for you. You must be gifted to be able to write so differently and so well. I especially liked the lines... 'so fragile in my expectation.' I think I've been guilty of that before. Sue |

Michael, Touching, very touching. You are definitely blessed with soul. Heart felt my friend. Your writing is like the express way, your always on a curve. Nicely done. I love "donning"... Lucky< !signature--> If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name. This is lightly done, has an open quality to it that I've not seen in your other work. I like it a lot (surprise?)....I hope you find that dream you search for....in the meantime your poetry touches so many who are in the same place as you...that's a good thing. |

Michael -----Your poems have been catching my eye - since I have joined. This is good -- though I have come to expect no less from you --- LIKE this style It is cool. YOU will get those feet on the ground. it is not too bad to take two steps forward and only slip back one -- in that way - you will get ahead ----one day you will surprise yourself and see you are going three feet forward and sliding back only one -------) Chin up Michael. Life throws us loops to make us grow up good and strong. netswan |

Sheri, you pretty much nailed it. It's from a feeling of soaring - feeling unconquerable - to a complete crash and feeling of despair I tried to relate here... well done on the analysis too...LOL Dawn Eclipse, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Janet, how dare you compare me with that scoundrel... well, I've never been so complimented in my life... Marilyn, hard to reinflate with holes in the lungs... but I try. Sue, I think we are all guilty of that at one point or another... Lucky, sometimes I think I'm not only runnin' the curve but grinding the rails as well... Glad you enjoyed my friend. serenity.... How's that? Lizzie, I hope so... that is why I write. PdV, thank you so much - truly was "experimental" for me. Glad you enjoyed. Kit - thank you so much. Devina, me thinks I had a little frost on the wings... with a little sun and warmth, who knows - maybe I'll be flying again soon... Jeffrey, ????...LOL netswan, Giving it my best shot...TY Lone Wolf,Sadness becomes me at times...LOL So glad you enjoyed... Thank you all for the kind replies. Michael |
