-- Slipping Through the Cracks -- (5-4-00) I'm searching for a reason, something here to hold me back It seems my life is broken, and I'm slipping through the cracks Sometimes it seems so pointless, everyday without end I just want something different, if only one friend I had a few before, but now they've come and gone I'm not sure if I was chased, or if I ran away alone Now it's just me, silent walls and stagnant air Still trying to find the meaning, but why do I care? Comfort found in work, because it occupies my time But even that it seems, is the same old dance and rhyme Day in day out, is there nothing left to do? A different bar tonight but it sings the same ol' tunes So here I am again, in this cold lonely bed Staring at the ceiling, chasing shadows that I dread One screams of running, and finding another town Another screams of death, and the wonders to be found All these screaming shadows, angels voices almost drowned Whispering words of reason and logic by which I'm bound I stand on a verge, and the choices there are clear To the left are the changes, to the right I'm just here Balanced on a ledge, my life steady in my hands Unsure of my decision, in the middle I still stand I'm looking to the past, wanting someone to pull me back It seems my past is broken, and I'm slipping through the cracks --Dave "Don't let your character get camoflaged with your environment. Find who you are and let it stay in its true colors." --Rachel Joy Scott |

I'm searching for a reason, something here to hold me back It seems my life is broken, and I'm slipping through the cracks ---------------------- One screams of running, and finding another town Another screams of death, and the wonders to be found All these screaming shadows, angels voices almost drowned Whispering words of reason and logic by which I'm bound I stand on a verge, and the choices there are clear To the left are the changes, to the right I'm just here Balanced on a ledge, my life steady in my hands Unsure of my decision, in the middle I still stand I'm looking to the past, wanting someone to pull me back It seems my past is broken, and I'm slipping through the cracks ------------------ When your standing on a ledge... you only need to take back a step or two, Then look to your left... cause Im always here for you. No need to look behind... let that old pain stay in the past. You deserve so much better, something fine, that will last. Promise me now... you wont give up on tomorrow. I understand, its so easy ... to get lost in our sorrow. Write the pain out... in your poems instead, listen to hear ... the poetic voices in your head. Hold out your hand... I'll hold you back, trust me my friend, I wont let ya fall thru the the crack. jm Hey you...I missed you too... sad but sweet poem my dave-gator... Im glad to see your writing again... NOT WHINING... obviously your doing some soul searching... and several lines in here let me know you already know the answers... I vote for reason and logic...and changes on the left. beautiful poem...and picture... you wrote my mood here of late as well... and remember...Im only an Email away... misery loves company jm |

White_Nite~ This is wistfully done. Sounds a touch sad ... hope you find a 'lift' soon. The graphic is awesome and then to realize your signature is one of Rachel Scott's just endears this piece to my heart. Dave my man....I like how you whine! hehe This is really heartfelt and beautiful. BTW, I just love the graphic, I've never seen one so breathtaking! That really added to the poem. So glad you decided to come back and bless us with your words...you've been missed! Don't wander too far, ok? I'm here too, just an email away as Janet said. Remember that, oh, and thanks for bringing all my poems back. You're a sweetie. |

I've GOT to get to work, but I wanted to post a quick reply to you guys. Thank you for your replies. TO ALL - The picture is a painting by Michael Whelan that I just purchased a print of. It's called "Passage: Verge", and it was painted in a time when he was feeling much in the same way I am... so glad I got it, worth EVERY PENNY! =) Netswan - Yeah.. vacation would be nice. But I'm scared I'd drive myself insane. Need a little more company before I go running off. =) Jan - Wow... I didn't expect to get a poem in reply. What an honor.. and thank you for your kind words.... I tend to stick with the "reason and logic" too. (BLEH!) They seem to hold be HERE bored and boring though... No changes... maybe I can transfer to somewhere else... that's a little bit of both. =) Marge - Yeah, I think I found one of her pics and left it in a reply to your CA challene not long ago... did ya miss it? =) That's when I added her poetry to my signature. Thanks for the compliments... and I never go too long without finding a lift.... although it seems like an eternity sometimes. =) Gen - Not a problem, it was a pleasure to read your poems.. there were a few more from weeks ago that I wanted to bring back... but I held off for the moment. =) I'll reply to them later though. Like I said... many of them deserve a second read or two. =) And thanks again, I appreciate the shoulder offered. =)< !signature--> "Don't let your character get camoflaged with your environment.
