Pride of the house, presence palming the endearment, mammoth hands still strong to hold my heart, satisfying my future, lighthouse from beyond, your silent words enough to make me smile. I know it's you Daddy, essence of old spice and pomade hair grease, undertones of fried chicken and collards from Momma's kitchen, she thinks I'm deranged, she doesn't believe. Touch her Daddy, she needs you too. |

Thank you so much. I wrote this piece for my Father who passed away years ago. We were very close although he never came back to visit me like my Grandmother did. So the piece came about to fill the void. However in the piece I'm a child. Peace to you. ACT. |

This touched me deeply, ACT. 'Though they are gone they will always be with us in memory. This is a lovely tribute to him. Denise |

Well now...this is very intriguing. I've often wondered if our loved ones linger, or if it's just memories of them we're clinging to....This piece is fabulous, and very believable! You've done a wonderful job portraying that lingering faith. I'm not sure what I would do if I lost my father...I'm sure I would find someway to keep him close - always. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. I like how you ended it too! |

"Pride of the house, presence palming the endearment," awesome lines! I most definitely believe that our loved one's are here in spirit, when needed. Nice work! Corinne |

So deep! I am touched. Regards, sudhir. In any moment of decision, The best thing you can do is the right thing, The next-best thing is the wrong thing, And the worst thing you can do is nothing. - Theodore Roosevelt |

Simply lovely, ACT ---- I believe our deceased parents live in our hearts -- and we keep them alive --) In our family - we are all writing parts about people who once lived so that when the "gene pool" comes down we don't just see names of a long ago relative -- but a piece of them and who and what they were all about --) Thanks for sharing ---- netswan |
