POETRY < !signature-->It's the sectional disclosure Of censored neuropathy It's the inverted genius That always seems to toy with me. It's the chandeliers of doom, I see swinging overhead. It's the mystic adoration Come by the voice of the dead. It's passion from the kiss of Night. It's the bond felt by a brother. It's the emptiness knowing you're The Insignificant Other. It's the clinical depression, It's a window to the dark. A Shakespearean impression That has yet to meet the mark. It's a whisper on the starlight It's hope cast the oubliette. It's the longing in the silence Of unwritten minuet. A dream dance with emotion, It's a smile across the eyes. The only truth I've ever held In this world full of lies. Michael Anderson For all behind was dark and drear, And all before was night and fear. How many hours of night or day In those suspended pangs I lay, I could not tell; I scarcely knew If this were human breath I drew. Lord Byron [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 05-03-2000).] |

Micheal, Again, I know just how you feel...you write it so eloquently. We can't let go of our trust, though, and become bitter cynics. It's better to look for the good in others than to suspect the worst. Great poem, Micheal. Kris the poet's pen...gives to airy nothing A local habitation and a name ~ Shakespeare |

It's a dream dance with emotion It's a smile across the eyes. It's the only truth I've ever held In this world full of lies. ------------------ why am I smiling from ear to ear after reading this poem ![]() man, I love this one..*smile* perfect M, just perfect. Its the gift that you were given... one you so unselfishly share. Its the emotion you evoke inside our hearts... making us reach deep to the place we not dare. Its the magic you create... with every perfect rhyme and verse. It is your wings to fly... your freedom from fate's curse. Poetry is your angel... her words so sweetly inspire. as long as you write... I know you feel hope's desire. You will never be... an insignificant other. You are a friend to all here... our favorite poetic brother. Never doubt you've made an impression... trust me...you've made your mark, You are the crowned poet prince... ruler and majesty of the poetic dark. jm |

It's the might of a pen, add a bit of fun, intended pun, one never knows when, words that flow, hurt without a gun. It's a personal delight, to see through the light, with oneself does one fight, gripping the pen with one's might. It's a passionate arousal, at the reader's disposal, a writer's unsaid proposal, and a challenged disciple.... ..... Michael, the theme and the expressions are great as ever from you. Thanks for igniting my passion for verse.... Regards, Sudhir a.k.a. ski (a crazy monster) Take each day as it comes, Consider each day as a flight, Try hard to succeed and fly, Surely then you will reach some height. But if by some chance you don’t, Remember that tomorrow will always come. Learn this well and learn this hard That today’s efforts will pay for tomorrow’s fun. A Crazy Monster, a.k.a Ski |

Some excellent thoughts, here -- and ones that hold much of truth ... Could use some work on the meter (sorry, but it IS rhymed and structured) -- problem is I like most of the lines where the meter stumbles, so I have no helpful suggestions to offer (not that I even know you would want any -- LOL) ![]() ![]() You are very talented, Michael -- I wish I had half the inspiration you do! --Me Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

A dream dance with emotion, It's a smile across the eyes. The only truth I've ever held In this world full of lies Isn't that the truth, though? I've found poetry (I'll expand here and say my writing) to be my only constant sometimes...my only truth.. There are tons of lines I adore.."It's the longing in the silence, Of unwritten minuet" Particularly struck me. Being of a musical nature and all. ![]() Lovely, Michael |

warmhrt, it may be just a bit too late for me, I'm afraid. ![]() Janet, I'm glad I managed to make you smile instead of cry for a change. Thanky you for the dear poem, too. ![]() Amy, I'm glad I can influence you in a positive manner. You all mean the world to me too ya know? Sudhir Iyer, Ty so much for the poetic reply. The truest of all compliments for a poet me thinks. ![]() Sunshine, I hope they're happy tears... ![]() Jeffrey, if you ever figure it out - let me know would ya? Cause I haven't a clue either... ![]() Walt, I'll slap you around anytime old friend... Right now it's your turn to wham me tough... ![]() Martie, I'm so glad you enjoyed... Mistik, you underestimate yourself... Corazon, TY... Glad you enjoyed, also. PdV, I do my best writing while in bed...LOL Guess I learned that trick from all those stays in the hospital... Kess, well, I didn't do much here but release some emotion - you caught me sluffing again...LOL But hey, if I tried to do everything perfect - what a boring life that would be - don't ya think? ![]() Elizabeth, your poetry has moved me to tears many times... don't sell yourself short. You have a gift. Irish Rose, I wish I could stop that pendulum sometimes... just to try to catch up to the emotion sometimes...LOL Kit, TY - and I'm glad to see your making your way around the forums so well. I will be looking for more of your work as well. Nicole, Indeed, poetry is the only thing I've ever "known" would always be there for me. In a way, it is my reality as the rest of the world is so often unattainible to me. Thank you all for your kind replies. Michael |
