Waxy importance, faithful knick-knacks that relatives who rarely visit ask, "where did you get them from?" Colorful conversation pieces, we take their presence for granted as they sit there, giving pride to gloomy spaces. We hesitate, and admire their inevitable fate with the kiss of a flame, making them cast shadows that dance upon bland walls and ceilings, they melt slowly, almost forever, a waxy weeping that hypnotizes the admirer. Vessels for spiritual cleansing, soul savers, their aroma wafts graciously to inane spaces that otherwise have no dignity, soothing the science of aroma therapy, permeating our smell sensors and dreaming us to paradise. With all that they do for us, we never feel remorse, after they have fulfilled our melodious journey with radiant release, as we again, reach for a match, to light their solitude. |

Wow...you have expressed the importance of a candle very well. "...and dreaming us to paradise." I like that. Bobbycat =^..^= ~~ And it harm none, do what ye will.~~ |

Thanks a bunch. I never realized the importance of a candle before. I wrote this at a friend's house who always burns candles. Now I understand. Peace to you. ACT. |

Some REALLY great lines in here, AC... I really love this: "a waxy weeping that hypnotizes the admirer." and "their aroma wafts graciously to inane spaces that otherwise have no dignity" well done, indeed! and y'know what's funny? I'm sitting here on the computer by candlelight... LOL... was gonna write a poem about it ... hehe Enjoyed this *very* much! I'm glad you like it here. Hang around! |

Hey ACT, You have really given a sense of life to the inanimate candle. The light from a candle's wick is enough to light up the tunnel of gloom. Thanks for putting in your magificent thoughts together and sharing them. regards, and peace to you too - Sudhir Take each day as it comes, Consider each day as a flight, Try hard to succeed and fly, Surely then you will reach some height. But if by some chance you don’t, Remember that tomorrow will always come. Learn this well and learn this hard That today’s efforts will pay for tomorrow’s fun. A Crazy Monster, a.k.a Ski |
