Reflections Pale blossoms droop their fragile heads And blink their dew-jewelled eyes. Upon the water's placid face Their shadowed beauty lies. Bright butterflies around them flit And frolic in the sun, But they must gaze into the lake Until their life is done. How brief their bloom and sad to think That they have never known, The wonder of the world around, Or faces, but their own! oh my! This is a great piece. It flows like honey. Bravo! the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
