A Mother's Sigh |

Her happily-ever-after dream was not a palace, gowns or pearls. She saw a simple garden gate, a fireplace, white curtain swirls; a home with laughter, warm and fresh, where children learned and parents spoke with tenderness. For just a while, she held her dream. But then it broke. She clings to fragments that remain, stares back along a battered trail and signs she recognized too late. She must erase the fairy tale; her focus now is to protect her children, teach them how to fly. She has no soft-swirled dreams to give -- just love that lives in every sigh. 05/24/02 Laryalee Fraser |

You have done well with this, telling us just enough to know there has been suffering and survival. Bravo. Joyce |

This poem reads of strenth and loss and an enduruing love...exquisite! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
