“Do you ever get bored,” I asked? “No,” she replied, a surprised look on her lovely face, “do you”? “Oh yes, sometimes. I seem to descend into a melancholy state and no words come for a while.” She smiled wickedly, a slight smirk spreading across those classic features. “Maybe it’s when I go on vacation that this happens to you.” “Vacation? You go on vacation? I didn’t know that.” “Oh yes indeed. You don’t think I sit around all the time waiting for you to get an idea do you”? “Aren’t you supposed to help me get motivated to write”? “Pegasus, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”, watching me closely for a reaction to her barb. “I resent that, Adverse. Some of the things I write aren’t THAT bad”! “Sure, the ones I help you with. The others, well...” letting her voice trail off to a low whisper for effect. “Now you made me mad,” I responded. “Just for that, I’m going to write a lovely piece without your help. That will show you I really don’t need you,” as my face reddened. “And that, my dear Pegasus, is called motivation by a muse.” With a grin on her face, she turned slowly and walked away, knowing I was still standing there with my mouth open, speechless. “Women,” I muttered under my breath. “You haven’t heard the last of this,” I shouted to an empty garden. “Not by a long shot,” declaring to no one in particular, as I began to write. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost [This message has been edited by pegasus111 (05-11-2002 12:33 PM).] |

Methinks, that muse of yours, must have been a mother in another lifetime. Sounds like she knows exactly how to motivate and to get a person to be independent.  |

i swear we have the same muse and I think mine has gone on a perminant vacation  I'm wise enough now not to let cool get to me. |
