Dyed hair, a boyfriend, make-up. these are all things that show I'm growing up. You see these as signs That I'm turning you away, maybe so but They're also signs to let you know I'm on my way. I'm on my way To independance, To a long and happy life. I'm not trying to hurt you, well not most of the time anyway, I just need my own space. I need a place to just be me; A place to be free To find myself. You've always pushed me; sometimes to hard, and now you need to back off it's time for me to learn my own lessons. you've been there on and off for so long, now it's someone elses turn; someone who'll be there 24/7. there are other people to help me now, people who can be more to me than you ever were. people who'll love me for who i really am, not try and change me into their perfict little child. this you need to realize, i'm not a little girl anymore. wake up! smell the coffee! i'm no longer a child. i'm almost compleatly grown. i know you still see me as that little girl, you probly always will. but please, you really need to realize I AM MY OWN PERSON! i applogise if this is excrucatingly painful for you; but you should've figured this our, a long time ago. i am not a child now nor will i ever be again. it's very simple to comprehend. so please, say goodbye once and for all, to your little girl. GOD's greatist gift is LOVE |

Welcome to our corner. I am sorry that growing up for you has been hard and coming from the other end of the line I can see the reason for your parents being reluctant to let you go your own way. It takes great skill to mold character. Hope things work out. Joyce |

Yes growing up is tough on both sides of the house...there needs to be give and take on sides of the problem. I really like this...I feel if you tighten it up a bit and not use so much redundancy it will be a striking poem about adolescence’s need to strike out learn about the world for themselves. Welcome to our little corner. I agree with the dancer. Trim the excess and you have a winner. Looking forward to more of your work..... the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Have you ever heard..."growing pains"? It can be painful for all involved. Try to look at your parents with love. There is no substitute for the real thing. You show talent in your abiltiy to write, so keep up the good work. Wishing you the best. Deb |
