Whose kiss upon these lonely lips now placed will ease the nagging ache of lonely days Whose tender arms enfold this haggard soul naked to the night in shameful disarray This savior simply dressed in common fare drawn to the one so carelessly ignored Restores a peace oft lost in fruitless strife provides a shield against the threat of harm Question not this miracle adorned in scented frame this star that glows but once to wretched beings Lift up the spirit since hammered into dust reach up to hold the one that offers life For is not life preferred in boundless joy whatever span be drawn in mindless fate To the dreaded darkness and solitary fare Of existance wasted on an inward course the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

So poignant and lovely…the cadence has a life of its own. [This message has been edited by wordancer (04-10-2002 11:32 AM).] |

Beautiful poetry, Peg...reads like a dream... A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
