Yesterday I traveled Just sixty miles away And found myself transported To the merry month of May. In the center of Seattle where Appearing just for me And it seemed a large proportion Of the world's humanity, Was all of spring's bright pleasures In such raiment grand and fair. The flowers of the springtime Were in appearance there. Espaliared pear and apple trees Were in luixurious bloom. I wondered at the beauty stored In this cavernous room. Eight acres spread before us With anticipations high, We knew on any path we took, Delights would catch the eye. We had just seven hours to spend Before our homewarde trip. Seven delicious hours in which This taste of spring to sip. We marveled at the labor To install this wonder show, But the resulting beauty Was all we'd need to know. Enormous trees were standing As if always planted there With grass and flowers in landscapes That showed much skill and care. The bus trip home was very short, Our minds so full of dreams Of gardens in their fine array And our new landscape schemes. Today the air is fresh and mild And I know what it means; God and His crew are working hard On Spring behind the scenes. By Joyce: 2/9/09 |

such a lovely portrait you paint dear lady. I love flower and garden shows. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |
