I was young...more than most when I swear I saw my very first ghost not in haunting fearsome dream but a shade of my heart's true dream I loved her from the moment met and even now...still love her yet her eyes that smile and laugh and frown the grace she holds in jeans or party gown her hands that healed and gave reproach the young girl...both friend and coach she kissed me..right there on my lips tapped my nose with fingertips ' I'll see you again...some sweet day so goodbye to you I will not say ' years went by..some fair some cold and with the years my memories old and then I met her...once again though in truth I knew not my friend She pestered me..with smiles..and more her adoration I knew not what for and I almost banished her, to my shame so I promised never to use her name our lives...are not the same it seems and sometimes my ghost...of her I dream but true to her word she loves me still and in my heart I always will cherish her more than most first love, first kiss, to my friend the ghost. " The question shouldn't be...'Why are we here?' but rather 'ARE we here? " |
