I'm feeling very sad today, With no poetry in my heart. There's really nothing left to say Since we've been pulled apart. I thought that you were mine for life, And there was no way we could know That you'd be forced to leave so soon Before my time to go. Memories can bring great joy And some memories bring much pain When memories are reminders Of what never comes again. How long does it take a heart to heal, How long for memories to fade? No lifetime's long enough to dim The memories we made. So I must live with memories, Try again to find the joy That was mine, I thought, forever, When I first saw my boy. All the years are passing swiftly And I don't know where they have gone. But you are with me forever, The sweet memories linger on. By Joyce 11/11/01 |

The memories will become sweeter every year..and in time..your broken heart will heal. Writing is part of that healing, I know. |

Joyce: This is a wonderful poem about loss and rememberance. Sometimes the sad ones take precedence, but there are lots of happy ones too. Betty Lou Hebert |
