(AN:Once again the muse is the same as the poems I've written since To My Lili Marlene. Its best to read them to get a sense of continuity...At least I think so. I'm in ROTC so expect some military references.) Little Things Have Meaning Little deeds and gestures mean much to me. Little words and kindnesses, don't you see? That smile on your face this morning in class. From such a sweet and caring lass. My Lili of the lamplight. The smile on your face set my heart alight. When I spilled frappucino down my shirt. I laughed along with you and it didn't hurt. The pearl white smile lit up the room. It brought light to much mid-fall gloom. The way your shiny chesnut hair frames your face. Loss of a beauty inside and outside, hard to replace. Many a girl I've met is beautiful but shallow. Their minds are surprisingly dense and narrow. Your sweetness and gentleness melted my heart. Like Alpine snow under sunlight, come apart. Even though you care for another. I thank God the Father and Christ our Brother. For the gift of your friendship and presense. You are simply wonderful, without precendence. For your beauty is from within. It supplements the beauty of the skin. In ways I can but only begin to describe. Hope you can still befriend the saddened scribe. The poet clad in khaki. Who's sense of humor is slightly whacky. Though that love is unrequited. Upon a pike his heart is spitted. The fact you still stay friendly with me. A kindness with which I do agree. You don't know how I really feel. For I fear a rejection cold as steel. The loss of what little I have left. Of a friendship to be bereft. Is far worse than any hardship on the march. In the desert where the sun shall parch. I packed up my bag to go. You don't share my feelings, I know. I felt at ease with some light hearted banter. With you, my heart did canter. Like a young colt across the grassy plain. The sky could pour down with rain. And couldn't affect me one little bit. The friendship lives on pulling me from the pit. Every kind word and gesture has meaning. Though I doubt you'd share my romantic leaning. They put a spring in my step very pronounced. Though fifteen days ago, my heart was trounced. The light, friendly punch on my arm at the game. Took several seconds for my heart to tame. Your highlights in your hair complement your skin. Beauty without and within I give my broadest grin. Your kindness and laughter for today. A little more from you, from the Lord I pray. Have sustained me through many a lonely night. Wrestling the inner demons that are my plight. Hopefully my love does not unsettle you. That would injure me, through and through. Walking across campus I felt so lighthearted. Privilaged to befriend you, kindness imparted. Know that I love you for what is within. As well as the beauty no deeper than the skin. |

(sigh) Your poetry sounds so genuine and pure, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you and I hope very very soon you find the stillness of heart you deserve too much, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Carl, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |
