Northbound The northbound geese, in early spring, Faintly,to my ear do bring, Cries of wild anticipation And I share in their elation! I watch until they're lost from view, Wishing I were going too. North, to where the tundra lies Under brooding, Arctic skies. North, to where a seething sea, Sings a savage symphony. North and north again, to where, Prowls the fearsome polar bear. I wonder what it's like to be One speck of lone humanity In a world that's wild and free? Betty Lou Hebert [This message has been edited by Trillium (04-29-2006 12:57 PM).] |

Good poetry Betty. I always enjoy your nature posts. However I don't want to go North. I'm too anxious for spring. I worked in my flower beds all day today and this evening I am so stiff I can hardly move. But happy. love, Joyce |

Dear Joyce: Good that you could work outside today. When you've spent a day doing that, you don't mind a few sore muscles! It's still too early here, but I see my daffodils are about ready to bloom so that's encouraging! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
