Once of the Sea

I climb the rocks along the beach,
Just beyond the wild waves reach.
I sit and stare out at the sea.
Its beauty hypnotizes me!
The bond between us is quite real.
There is a kinship here, I feel.
The salty tears I've shed may be
Because I once, was of the sea!
In some forgotten, distant past,
Before my lot in life was cast,
But still I feel those ties today.
Whenever I can get away,
I go to where I feel complete,
With green sea water, at my feet!

Were I wealthy enough to go where I please on a sheer whim, Trillium, your poetry would have me ever crossing the features of this planet, in one fashion, or another.

Dear Betty,

This brings back memories: I once visited the seaside everyday over a period of months, turning to the turbulent waves for comfort..
Beautiful poignant read, I like it

Now I sure can relate to this one.
I haven't been diving in a while and reading this makes me wish I was lost on an island in Belize looking out upon the sea.

Dear Betty Lou

Are our tears salty for a reason.......maybe we were 'Once of the Sea'!

This poem of yours is so spiritual, I feel!

A lovely read!

Love Verbena xo

Dear Verbena:

It doesn't seem hard for me to believe we all came from the sea eons ago!
