"Arrow Heart" I Eyes of a beauty, familiar Something I cannot define Halted by an unearned desire The arrows from your heart Shot blindly into mine A radiance from within you Burn through this heart's armoured stone Igniting an unfamiliar want, to love you The hole you have cut bleeds forth To join the river in your soul Surely through the depths, you must have known I can feel the pain betrayed within you Of a heart that needs to be healed Embrace a warmth, cloaked in midnight Return to the place that made you whole Lest both our dooms be sealed II Let us walk from this road of winter's leaves Pull the nails from your tattered wrists Bring you back to life Run naked, Run free From the candle of these dark lands III You struggle for breath in treacherous waters Come! Drown with me Lay your soul to rest Your love may find peace there In a burial at sea IV Standing before gates of freedom Looking down into the abyss You hold the key In your tender kiss It's a fear of flying But you have to try I will always catch you, if you should fall Come on then Fall with me V In a turbulent release Fire, sparks in your eyes Once again alight The love love in your precious heart Wrapped up safely In this soul I will stay the fear In your eyes As we let the masks fall apart. 10/20/1996 |
