Mischievous Mounth February, that short scamp Greeted us with warmth and cheer, Tricking us into belief Spring was premature this year. February whistled and Winter answered to his call. Arctic winds from frozen north Caused the mercury to fall. Some were fooled to early prune, Taking February's dare. If prized plants succumb to freeze February doesn't care. Spring is much too wise to trust February's flirt and tease. She'll delay her entrance for March's warm and trusted breeze. By: Joyce 2/15/06 |

Dear Joyce: I had a few bulbs peeking up but with this frigid air I hate to think what is happening to them. Guess it;s with us all the rest of the week too! Enjoyed your poem. Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Thanks Betty. We are having our worst cold of the season right now, I guess of the decade accoring to the weather man. The bulbs will likely be okay but some of the fruit trees our setting buds and they may take a hit. Hope not. Love, Joyce |

ain't it the truth! As a born and raised wisconsinite, I have to agree, both methaphorically, and meteorologically speaking. Thanx for the read. |

Joyce~ 'Spring is much too wise to trust February's flirt and tease.' *smiling* big here ... I just adore this thought~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Joyce, I loved this piece. Even here in so called Sunny Florida my yard is a shambles. Many dead and lying low. I will prune in mid March and try to tickle the desire to bloom again. If not successful I will have a few barrels of trash and mulch to sort and begin again. Ah, Florida with its false promises. best to you, martyjo |
