Two saplings planted in September mist beneath an Autumn sky. As seasons changed from year to year, and winds bent boughs as lightening brightened summer skies, so through heat of day and storms of night, roots dug deep in soils fertile with their fallen leaves. on and on they grew Haven green for songbirds singing ever true to Spring deeper, deeper roots they grew as leafy branches kissed the sky. As fullest beauty grown through storm and strife and sweetest summer days, roots were intertwined. For love grown deep is what shall remain. A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
